Wasco Reserves will now be known as Wasco Reserve effectively immediately

The Wasco Reserves will no be known

The Wasco Reserves will no be known as the Wasco Reserve. The team was named after the Duck Reserve near Wasco. The teams website is now http://www.WascoReserve.com as well as their facebook page.

Field Manager Bill Moore "Reserves is not a good name for a baseball team when you are losing. Reserve is much better. I want to be known as the Reserve from this point forward. Minor change just drop the S."

The Reserve join numerous other singular team (Garden City Wind and Santa Fe Fuego) names in the Pecos League.

The Reserve will begin their 2nd season May 28, 2020 in Monterey against the Amberjacks.

August 3 2019 The Bakersfield Train Robbers defeated the California City Whiptails 5-3 after building an early lead and adding an insurance run in the sixth inning. Bakersfield collected 11 hits and scored three times in the first inning, once in the second and once in the sixth. California finished with eight hits and scored in the second fourth and eighth innings.

Ben Tingen led Bakersfield with two hits and two runs scored. Evan Hirschbaum went 2-for-3 with a home run and an RBI, while Deandre Smith hit a home run and drove in two runs. Nyles Nygaard and Nyles Etheridge also contributed RBI hits. Luis Alvarado had two hits for the Train Robbers.

George Rodriguez earned the win with two innings allowing one run on two hits. Manny Corpas worked three innings and struck out five while allowing one run, and Spencer Backstrom recorded the save with a scoreless ninth inning and one strikeout. Julian Tejeda was charged with the loss for California after allowing four earned runs on seven hits in three innings.

August 1 2019 Wasco Reserve defeated the Monterey Amberjacks 4-3 in a seven-inning game at Wasco Recreation Ballpark. Wasco finished with six hits and one error while Monterey collected six hits without an error.

Wasco scored in the first inning and added another run in the fourth before breaking a 2-2 tie with two runs in the seventh. Monterey scored twice in the second inning and once in the seventh, but Wasco held on for the win.

Jordan Dicks scored twice and drove in a run for Wasco, while Austin Hoffman went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Charlie Padilla added two hits. For Monterey, Coleman Poje went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and Rory Graf-Brennan contributed a hit and an RBI.

Scott Martinez earned the victory after allowing one run on one hit in two innings with three strikeouts and two walks. Matthew Fountain worked three scoreless innings without allowing a hit and struck out three. Monterey scored once in the first inning and broke the game open with four runs in the third. James Prockish hit a home run and drove in three runs, while Dylan Laudano added a homer and two RBI. Tucson finished with 18 hits and committed no errors while Wasco had seven hits and one error.

Daniel Diaz led Tucson’s offensive attack with three hits, including a home run, and five RBI. Nick Diaz added three RBI, while Patrick Clifford and Evan Douglas also homered and drove in three and two runs respectively. Caleb Wichman went 3-for-4 with two walks and scored three times. Tucson’s 18-hit effort also included doubles by Riley Richarz, Wichman, Douglas and Kris Keach.

Kris Keach earned the win after allowing three hits and four earned runs in 5.2 innings while striking out 11 and walking five. Tyler Daugherty worked two scoreless innings with three strikeouts and M. Reitz added a scoreless ninth with two strikeouts. Monterey collected 18 hits and built an early 13-4 advantage by scoring eight runs in the first inning and five more in the second. Wasco answered with three runs in the fourth and four in the fifth before Monterey added single runs in the fourth fifth and eighth innings. Wasco scored twice in the ninth but could not complete the comeback.

Rory Graf-Brennan powered Monterey’s attack with two home runs and three RBI. Dylan Laudano went 3-for-5 with four runs and two RBI, while Brooks Benson scored three runs and drove in two. Morgan Blatnik reached base six times with two hits and three walks, scored twice, drove in one run and stole two bases. Austin Marcellus added two hits including a triple and two RBI.

The Wasco Reserves will be hosting

The Wasco Reserves will be hosting its inaugural vocalist auditions for the 2019 season on Tuesday, May 22st at 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Wasco Recreation Ballpark Soloists, duets, trios and groups are invited to audition The Star-Spangled Banner.

Interested parties who would like to tryout should come out to ballpark no later than 7:00pm. Open auditions will be on a first-come, first-serve basis from. Top performers will sing live at Wasco Reserves during the 2019 baseball season which begins open the season on May 30th and run through August 2. The very best performer from that day will be selected to have the honor of singing the National Anthem on Opening Day. All ages are welcome, but children should be accompanied by an adult.

Pecos League moves to Wasco California for 2019 season

Wasco, Ca-The Pecos League of Professional Baseball Clubs is proud to announce its newest team in Wasco, California Wasco is located 24 miles Northwest of Bakersfield in Kern County. The team will be named the Wasco Reserves. The team will play at Wasco Athletic Park.

• The team will wear Maroon Jerseys and Maroon Hats.
• Bill Moore will serve field manager.

The Wasco Reserves will play in the Pecos Leagues Pacific Division for the 2019 season with the Bakesfield Train Robbers, California City Whiptails, High Desert Yardbirds and Monterey Amberjacks. The Reserves will be hiring on field staff and gameday operations staff.

The Wasco Reserves have released their 2019 schedule. The Reserves are the only expansion team in the Pecos League and first since 2017. The Reserves will play in Pecos Leagues Pacific Division. The Pacific Division will consist of the Tucson Saguaros, Monterey Amberjacks, Wasco Reserves, Bakersfield Train Robbers, High Desert Yardbirds and California City Whiptails

The Reserves will hold Spring Training in Wasco. The Reserves will open the Regular Season on May 30 in Monterey against the Amberjacks. Their first home game will be Saturday June 1 against the Bakersfield Train Robbers
