June 24 2019 The Tucson Saguaros defeated Wasco Reserve 16-3 behind a 19-hit attack. Tucson scored four runs in the first inning and five in the second to take a 9-0 lead, then added four runs in the fifth, two in the sixth and one in the eighth. Wasco scored once in the third and twice in the sixth while collecting six hits and committing four errors.
Evan Douglas went 2-for-4 with two runs, three RBI, two walks and a home run for Tucson. Shawn Barrowdale added three hits and two RBI, while Riley Richarz had three hits, three runs, one RBI, a triple and a stolen base. Efrain Zorilla drove in four runs with two hits, including a home run. Lawrence Chavez and Daniel Diaz each contributed two RBI, and Tucson also received home runs from Chavez and Douglas.
Tyler Daugherty earned the win for Tucson after allowing five hits and three earned runs over six innings. He walked three and struck out eight. Connor McGuinness completed the game with three scoreless innings, allowing one hit while striking out three, to earn the save.
Wasco starter AJ Clayton took the loss after surrendering nine runs on nine hits in 1.2 innings. Adam Ramirez allowed six runs, five earned, in 3.1 innings, while Matthew Fountain worked three innings and gave up one earned run. Justin Crider hit a home run and drove in one run for Wasco, and Charlie Padilla also recorded an RBI.
