June 22 2019 The Tucson Saguaros defeated Wasco Reserve 7-3 at Cherry Field, scoring once in the first inning and six times in the third to build their winning margin. Wasco answered with three runs in the third but was held scoreless over the final four innings. Tucson finished with 11 hits while Wasco collected seven.
Caleb Wichman drove in three runs for Tucson, while J. Garnett contributed a home run and two RBI. Evan Douglas went 2-for-4 with a home run and an RBI, and Patrick Clifford also homered and drove in a run. Shawn Barrowdale added three hits, and Michael Klein went 2-for-3 at the plate.
Klein earned the win after allowing six hits and three runs over six innings, with one earned run, two walks and seven strikeouts. Austin Cooper worked a scoreless seventh inning. Wasco starter Dmitry Shtykher took the loss after surrendering nine hits and seven runs in 3.2 innings, with one earned run, two walks and three strikeouts. Taylor Peterson followed with 2.1 scoreless innings and four strikeouts.
