June 21 2019 The Tucson Saguaros defeated Wasco Reserve 11-4 behind a 10-hit attack and a strong start from Will Morris. Tucson improved to 30-30 while Wasco fell to 19-43. The Saguaros also benefited from five Wasco errors while committing two errors themselves.
Tucson took a 2-1 lead in the first inning, and Wasco tied the game briefly with a run in the second. The Saguaros broke the game open with five runs in the fourth, added another in the fifth and scored one in the seventh to take a 9-2 advantage. Both teams scored twice in the eighth, but Tucson held on for the win.
Lawrence Chavez led Tucson with three hits, including two doubles, two RBI and one run. Patrick Clifford drove in two runs and scored twice, while Shawn Barrowdale went 1-for-3 with two runs and an RBI. Daniel Diaz added a hit, a run and an RBI. For Wasco, Justin Crider went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run, and Darren Love had two hits and scored once.
Morris earned the victory after allowing eight hits and two runs, one earned, in seven innings. He walked none and struck out 12. Max Williams took the loss for Wasco after surrendering seven hits and eight runs, one earned, in five innings while issuing seven walks and striking out five. Connor McGuinness, Sean Lubreski and Daniel Barrett combined to finish the game for Tucson.
