June 6 2019 Wasco Reserve overcame an early deficit with an 11-run fourth inning and defeated the Monterey Amberjacks 13-8 at Wasco Recreation Ballpark. Monterey scored three runs in the first inning, one in the second, two in the fourth and two in the fifth, while Wasco added one run in the first and fifth innings around its decisive fourth-inning outburst. The Amberjacks finished with 14 hits and four errors, while Wasco collected 12 hits and committed two errors.
Corey Davis Jr. led Wasco with three hits, including a triple, three RBI and two runs scored. Charlie Padilla had two hits, three walks and two RBI, while Justin Crider went 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs. Darren Love added two hits, including two doubles, with two runs and one RBI. Monterey’s Thomas Prospero had three hits and two RBI, while Seth Strong and Nathaniel Thompson each recorded two hits. Jonathan Vance hit a home run for Monterey and also drove in a run.
Alex Hernandez earned the win for Wasco after allowing eight runs, all earned, on 13 hits in seven innings. He walked four and struck out three. Adam Ramirez and Mitchell Langer each worked a scoreless inning to close out the victory. Monterey starter Jonathan Vance took the loss after surrendering nine runs, all earned, on nine hits in 3 1/3 innings, with four walks and three strikeouts. Hunter Parkinson provided three scoreless innings of relief and struck out seven for the Amberjacks.
