June 16 2022 The Santa Fe Fuego defeated Wasco Reserve 8-4 at Fort Marcy Park, using a fast start to build an early lead. Santa Fe scored three runs in the first inning, added four in the second and another in the third to take an 8-0 advantage before Wasco answered with four runs in the fourth.
Dominick Pisano led Santa Fe with three hits in three at-bats, two runs and two RBI. Matt Sanchez added two hits and scored twice, while Parker DePasquale had a double, a run, an RBI and a walk. Jared Gay drove in two runs, and Jesus Chavez and Manny Cachora each added an RBI. Santa Fe finished with nine hits and no errors.
Wasco was led by Brody Perkes, who hit his third home run of the season and drove in all four of the clubs runs. Ben Osborne went 2-for-2 with a run scored, while Tyler Latham and T. Wick each added a hit. Wasco collected five hits and committed two errors.
Sanchez earned the win for Santa Fe after allowing four runs, all earned, on five hits in five innings. He walked one and struck out six. Kyasuke Sakai took the loss for Wasco, surrendering eight runs, seven earned, on eight hits in 2 2/3 innings while walking two and striking out three. T. Wick held Santa Fe scoreless over the final 2 1/3 innings.
