July 2 2021 The San Rafael Pacifics defeated the Wasco Reserve 5-4 in 11 innings. San Rafael overcame an early deficit and scored the winning run in the 11th inning to complete the victory at Albert Park.
Wasco scored once in the first inning, added a run in the sixth and took a 4-3 lead with two runs in the seventh. San Rafael answered with one run in the second, one in the third and one in the sixth before breaking the 4-4 tie in the 11th. The Pacifics finished with 12 hits and no errors, while Wasco had six hits and two errors.
Aaron Haynes led San Rafael with two hits and two RBI, while Ben Tsui added two hits, one run and one RBI. Tyson Thompson scored twice and reached base three times with one hit and two walks. For Wasco, Willie Barcena went 2-for-5 with one RBI, and Domonique Hernandez also had two hits. Jesse Melendez scored twice, drove in a run and hit Wascos home run.
San Rafael starter Aaron Haynes allowed four runs on six hits in six innings while striking out three and walking six. Alex MacKinnon, Kyle Ulanday and Matt Anderson combined for five scoreless innings, with Anderson earning the win in the pitching table. Wascos Chris Reyes threw four scoreless innings with three strikeouts, but Ike Horn took the loss after allowing the deciding run in two-thirds of an inning.
