July 24 2021 The Bakersfield Train Robbers defeated Wasco Reserve 14-7, scoring in six different innings and finishing with 15 hits. Bakersfield built an 8-0 lead through the top of the fourth before Wasco answered with two runs in the fourth and five more in the fifth to make it an 8-7 game.
Dakota McFadden powered the Train Robbers with three hits, two home runs and seven RBI while scoring four runs. Alex Cornell added three hits and three RBI, and B. Damon collected three hits and scored three times. Seth Strong reached base four times with two hits and two walks while scoring five runs. Bakersfield added two runs in the seventh and another in the ninth to pull away.
Willie Barcena led Wasco with two hits and three RBI, while Christian Thorpe contributed two RBI. The Reserve finished with nine hits but committed two errors.
Austin Stephens earned the win for Bakersfield after allowing eight hits and seven earned runs in five innings. He walked three and struck out seven. Jarrod Rivera, Chris Rodriguez, B. Damon and Andrew Click combined for four scoreless relief innings, with Rodriguez and Click recording three strikeouts apiece. Nick Ray took the loss for Wasco after surrendering 12 hits and 11 runs in five innings, including nine earned runs.
