June 19 2021 Wasco Reserve overcame a late deficit to defeat the Bakersfield Train Robbers 11-9. Wasco scored three runs in the first inning, and the teams were tied 2-2 after three innings before the home team took a 6-4 lead through four frames. Bakersfield then scored seven runs across the fifth and sixth innings to move ahead 9-6.
Wasco answered with five runs in the seventh inning to reclaim the lead and held Bakersfield scoreless over the final three innings. Wasco finished with 13 hits and 11 runs, while Bakersfield collected 12 hits and nine runs. Wasco committed four errors compared with one for Bakersfield.
Seth Strong drove in four runs for Wasco and went 2-for-4 with a double, a run and a walk. Matt Flynn went 3-for-5 with three runs, a double, an RBI and a walk, while Daunte Freeman added two hits and two runs. For Bakersfield, Dakota McFadden went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles and a walk, and Retsyn Ootton had two hits and three RBIs.
Yusei Teraoka earned the win for Wasco after allowing one hit and no runs with one walk and one strikeout in 3.2 innings. Ike Horn started for Wasco and allowed four runs, two earned, on seven hits in five innings. Bakersfield starter Austin Toerner worked six innings and allowed six runs, five earned, on 11 hits with four walks and five strikeouts. Jadarian Mays was charged with the loss after recording one out and allowing four earned runs and four walks.
